projects. Here are just a few:
Implementation of a statewide health care program for over 50,000 Colorado employees and early retirees. Responsibilities included: strategic planning, designing plans for HMO, PPO, POS, dental and vision benefits, development of carrier request for proposals, analysis of carrier proposals, drafting and negotiating contracts with selected carriers, assisting with implementation issues such as systems, marketing, enrollment, and so forth.
Ongoing data analysis for a local HMO including: quarterly rate recommendations for various lines of businesses, rate filings, annual reports, small group certifications, underwriting processes, renewal rate review for large groups, and monthly ad hoc analyses by group, line of business, geographic area, provider, and types of service.
Ongoing IBNR reserve calculations for various clients. Some clients require monthly analyses, others require it quarterly or annually.
In depth analysis of a current benefits program in place for a large Colorado employer. Responsibilities included: review staffing, plan designs, financials, projections for viability of program, recommendations on self-funded vs. fully insured costs, revisions to plan designs and management of the program. Leif Associates was then hired to implement the changes requested including: executive search, training, redesign on benefit plans, ongoing analysis of financial status of program, carrier request for proposals development and analysis of responses, and carrier contract development and negotiations.
